Clinicians and Staff

Kevin Foust, LADAC, LCSW

   Kevin received his bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a concentration in Addiction Counseling from the University of New Mexico and a master’s degree in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University. He has served in the substance use and mental health field for 7 years across multiple capacities, including as a Peer Support Specialist and an LSAA. Currently, he holds licensure as both a LADAC (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor) and an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker).

Kevin’s passion for this work is deeply rooted in lived experience and the belief that hope, healing, and recovery occur through connection. He is committed to forming genuine, trusting relationships with clients and helping them address the root causes of distress. Kevin works to empower individuals to recognize their strengths, develop meaningful skills, and build healthier connections with themselves and others—supporting each client in reaching their full potential and achieving lasting recovery.

Kevin’s counseling approach is holistic, client-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive. He integrates a wide range of evidence-based modalities tailored to each client’s unique needs, including trauma-informed CBT, Cognitive Processing Therapy, DBT, Interpersonal Process work, Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness-based practices, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and 12-Step facilitation.

Kevin remains dedicated to providing compassionate, skilled, and culturally attuned care to individuals and families seeking recovery, healing, and meaningful change.

Ricki Bloom, LCSW

 Ricki Bloom is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Unceded Tiwa Territory. She has 15+ years experience working in social services including as a case manager, psycho-social rehab provider, program manager, consultant, individual and group therapist. She creates group curriculum and provides training to agencies and community members. She utilizes a unique combination of trauma-informed approaches, narrative therapy, harm reduction, experiential learning, intersectionality theory, art, mindfulness and sensory experiences. She is also a community activist and advocate for social and economic justice.  

Jade Sanchez, LCSW, LADAC

 

Jade Sánchez (she/Ella) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC), and a Certified Peer Support Worker (CPSW) in the state of New Mexico, where she has worked in the behavioral health field since 2014. She graduated with a dual major in Spanish and Psychology from the University of New Mexico, and a Masters in Social Work from Western New Mexico University. Jade is a bilingual, bicultural and binational woman of color. Jade’s roots has allowed her to connect with her Latine monolingual Spanish community.

She is an advocate for social justice which includes, reproductive and transformative justice, culture shift, and families impacted and/or separated by systems (CPS and immigration systems, among others).

Jade enjoys working through a strength-based, trauma-informed, abolitionist lens, using Mindfulness, EMDR and somatic awareness skills to support clients in working through trauma and substance use. She finds purpose and connection when working with women, families, adolescents, the recovering population, queer, LGBTQ+, and any communities of color. She finds joy being outside, practicing traditional healing methods, spending time with her partner Fernando, and children. Her favorite things to do are get treats from the Michoacana and watch TikTok.

Jade Sánchez (she/ella), tiene licencia clinica autorizada en trabajo social clínica (LCSW), licencia de consejería en Alcohol y Abuso de las drogas consejera (LADAC) y certificación en trabajo de apoyo (CPSW) en el estado de Nuevo México donde ella ha estado trabajando en el campo de la salud mental desde 2014. Es graduada en dos especialidades en la Universidad de Nuevo México (psicologia y español) y una maestría en trabajo social de Universidad de Western Nuevo México. Jade es bilingüe, bicultural, binacional mujer de color. Sus raíces están conectadas con la comunidad latina, que hablan solo español. 

Ella es defensora de la justicia social que incluye derechos reproductivos y justicia transformativa, y familias impactadas de los sistemas (CPS e inmigración)

Jade disfruta trabajar con base en la fuerza, informada sobre el trauma, con una perspectiva abolicionista, usando las tecnicas Mindfulness, EMDR y habilidades somáticas para apoyar a clientes que atraviesan trauma y uso de sustancias. Ella encontró propósito y conexión cuando trabaja con mujeres, familias, adolescentes, personas en recuperación, LGBTQ+, y personas de cualquier comunidad de color. 

Disfruta estar en la naturaleza, practicar métodos tradicionales de salud, pasar tiempo con su esposo, hijos, y familia. Su favorito pasatiempo es visitar la paletería michoacana y mirar TikTok.

Simone Durbin, , LMSW, LSAA, CSW

Simone Durbin, LMSW, LSAA, CSW, is a compassionate behavioral health provider who believes in meeting each person where they are and honoring their unique journey. She operates from a person-centered and strengths-based approach, focusing on empowering individuals to recognize their resilience and create meaningful change.

Simone has experience in substance use treatment and recovery support, and is dedicated to fostering a collaborative, supportive, and non-judgmental space where individuals feel heard, understood, and encouraged. She prioritizes individualized care, helping participants build coping skills, increase self-awareness, and improve emotional wellness while working toward sustainable growth and long-term wellbeing.

Lou Packer, LSAA, CSW

Lou currently holds an LSAA and is working toward his LADAC. He received an Associates Degree in Human Services from CNM and a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology from UNM. Lou has 20+ years working in human services in Albuquerque in a wide variety of roles. Lou currently focuses on Comprehensive Community Support Services (CCSS) and Recovery Connection's efforts to facilitate socialization and recreation opportunities for the recovery and wellness community.

Maddy Brown, CSW

 Maddy serves as both the Office Manager and a CCSS provider at Recovery Connections, bringing a wealth of experience from years of involvement in the recovery community. Known for her intuitive ability to connect deeply with clients, Maddy is highly attuned to the unique needs of each individual she supports. She brings intelligence, empathy, and compassion to every aspect of her work, ensuring that both the administrative operations and client services of Recovery Connections run with care, integrity, and a client-centered focus. Her commitment to fostering a supportive and healing environment makes her an invaluable member of the team. 

Cindy Brown, BBA, HR Manager

 Cindy, with over 25 years of dedicated service in the recovery community, brings a rare blend of compassion, intelligence, and expertise to her role at Recovery Connections. With a strong background in accounting, human resources, nonprofit leadership, and business management, Cindy has spent decades supporting organizations and individuals on their path toward healing and stability. Her work is grounded in empathy and driven by a deep commitment to helping others recover, grow, and thrive. Cindy is known for her steady presence, exceptional professionalism, and unwavering belief in the transformative power of recovery.
